What is a “donee”?
A donee is the person(s) you trust and legally appoint to make decisions about your personal welfare or financial matters on your behalf.
Can I appoint more than one donee?
Absolutely. You may appoint multiple donees:
  • Jointly: All donees must agree before any action can be taken
  • Jointly and severally: Each donee can act independently
If you appoint more than the limit on Form 1, choose Form 2 and indicate how they should act.
Can I revoke my LPA?
Yes, an LPA can be revoked anytime, as long as the donor has the mental capacity to make this decision.
Is the LPA applicable immediately?
No, the LPA only comes into effect if the donor loses mental capacity to make their own decisions.
